The 2001 "Best of Show"
winner in the artificial lure division at the American Sportfishing
Association's ICAST show is the Futa Long Mac shown
below.
Futa Long
Mac - (12" shown below). Made to fit 9" and 12" skirts.
The 12"-2 Jet shown below won the ICAST Best of Show in
2001. Action in the
water: Also called the "Sidewinder" this head swims
side to side because of flat angled cuts in the sides of
the lure head. Tips: This lure
is effective in calm to rough waters and is best trolled
at speeds under 10 knots.

Futa Mac - Our most popular bait of the Mac series. Available
in 7", 9" & 12" sizes. The 7" & 9" sizes
are shown below. Action in the water:
Swims side to side. The leader tube
is placed off-set to further accentuate the lure's
swimming action(Note: On the 7" size, the leader must be run through
the top offset tube or the lure will run upside down, in the 9" and
12" version, the leader can be run in the center or offset
tube). Available in a wide variety of colors or with various
shell inserts. Tips: This lure runs best
while trolled under 10 knots in any type of sea
condition.

Square Head
- This lure was
developed for anglers who wanted a lure that ran deep without excess
weight when the fish were not feeding at the surface.
Available in 9" (shown below) and 12"
sizes. Action in the water: Due to this lures
unique shape, when trolled under 10 knots this lure will stay
submerged 2-4 feet and run straight like a bullet with lots of
smoke from the 4 jets. Tips: A very popular
lure in Hawaii for Albacore and Bigeye anglers, this lure has caught
all the flagfish in a short period of time. It is effective in
calm to rough waters and is best trolled under 10 knots.(Note:
This lure will run flat side down all the time).

Slider - Developed for
the angler that wants a deep diving heavy action lure. This
lure is made in 9" and 12" sizes. Action in the water: This lure will
dive up to 10 feet below the surface, flip and come shooting back
up, give a good surface spray and dive back down
again. Tips: If this lure is trolled
over 10 knots it will not dive, but skip violently on the surface of
the water, which has also been known to get a Marlin strike.
However it was made to be used at lower trolling speeds and will not
move side to side erratically or tangle your pattern.
It can be used in calm to rough water conditions and has
produced a 600lb marlin and a 180lb bigeye.

Alien
- This lure is made in both 7" and
9" sizes for anglers who want to troll at higher speeds.
Action in
the water: This lure is a straight running lure with
a pronounced shimmy at high speeds. The lure is
counter-weighted and will always run true without
spinning. Tips: It is effective in
rough water conditions and at high trolling speeds. It
was one of the original Futa Lure shapes retired several
years ago and was brought back to production this past Summer
2002 by request of avid Angler David Frisbee who
trolls at high speeds trying to get to where the fish
are.

Doorknob - This lure is made in sizes
for 9" (shown below) and 12"
skirts. Action in the
water: This shape will stay submerged in the water at
higher trolling speeds of 10+ knots. A lot of smoke is made
with the water against the broader face.
Tips: This is a good choice for rough water
conditions and has a very good tournament track record for bringing
up big fish. Currently, a larger
tournament doorknob is in the works.
